Diploma Master Classes for Environmental and Land-based Studies

Year 9 students from Farringdon Community Sports College, Sandhill View School and Oxclose Community School attended a Master Class in Environmental and Land-based Studies (ELB) at East Durham College Houghall Campus in January 2010.
Students were accompanied by Keith Heather, Deputy Headteacher at Sandhill View School, Rob Bishop, Head of Geography at Farringdon Community Sports College, and Craig Langley, Diploma Network Co-ordinator.
Keith Heather said, "The day was a great success. The workshops and
activities were great fun and enabled students to gain hands-on experience of land-based studies and animal care, and they helped the students to decide whether the Diploma in ELB is for them."
Sunderland 14-19 Partnership would like to thank Helen Mitchell and Dawn James, lecturers in ELB Studies at Houghall Campus, who were responsible for devising the ELB Master Class and who have been involved in the development of the new Environmental and Land-based Studies Diploma.
