What level of job do you aspire to? Based on your GCSE results so far, what level of learning do you need to achieve your goal?
GCSE Grades E-F-G
You can start NVQ Level 1 or BTEC Introductory Certificates or Diplomas. This will help you achieve a job with some skills and some training - often called 'semi-skilled.
GCSE Grades C-D-E
You can start NVQ Level 2, a BTEC First Diploma or an Apprenticeship. This will help you gain a job which requires qualifications - often called 'skilled' or 'craft' level.
GCSE Grades C and above in most subjects
With these GCSE grades, you can start a Level 3 course. If you are aiming for a technician or supervisor job, then qualifications and training will be necessary. You will need to achieve NVQ Level 3, 2 A Levels, BTEC National Diploma or Advanced Apprenticeship.
If you are aiming for junior management, then qualifications and training will be required. You will need to achieve NVQ Level 4, BTEC Higher National Diploma or Degree.
If you are aiming for professional / management, then a degree level qualification is needed. You will need to achieve NVQ Level 5, or degree plus further post-graduate qualifications.
